WELCOME TO 4B

Hi! My name is Annette Maher and this is my 7th year of teaching 4th grade at Immaculate Conception of Dardenne School. All children are unique children of God and must have a stimulating environment where they can excel in faith and academics. In 4th grade, we concentrate on developing in the virtues of respect, responsibility, and reverence.

I believe that every classroom is its own unique community. My role is to assist each child in developing their own potential. I will incorporate hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects, and individual work to engage and activate student  learning while we all grow in spirit and mind.

The Final Countdown Day 3

On Wednesday, students will enjoy a breakfast treat prior to leaving for the field trip to the St. Louis Zoo!

The Final Countdown

I am sure you heard that 4th grade is celebrating the final week of school with a "Final Countdown". Each day we will pop a balloon to see what fun activity is planned. Today we were outside for an extra recess on this glorious day. Tomorrow is Board Games and Bubble Gum. I will provide the bubble gum and students will provide the board games from home.

Zoo Field Trip

Parents,
Thank your for your patience as we work out the bugs of using Sangha for submitting permission slips. If you have not already completed a form for your child, please do so ASAP.

Students should be dressed in a Spirit Wear top with dress down bottoms on Wednesday. Please check the weather and dress appropriately. I would suggest bringing a sling bag for your child to carry their lunch and water bottle around the zoo. Cameras are allowed but student phones must be left at home. No money is needed as we do not purchase souvenirs or treats at the zoo.

The list of parents chaperoning are: Woolsey, Willson, Grenia, Reckamp, Finklang., Harke, Bishop, Donaldson, Monahan, Kirkpatrick, Goo, McMurtrie, Kandlbinder, and Martinez. If you would like to be added to the list, please take a minute to press the VOLUNTEER button in your Sangha calendar, and sign up!

Peace,
Annette Maher

Reminders

Parents,
Don’t forget the Bingo Book Forms are due tomorrow. Also, the 50 states and capitals test (not a graded assignment) will take place.

Olympic Day

4B Parents,

ICD Olympics is on Friday, May 17th.  Our class will be Team Brazil.  For those students who are interested, we are ordering shirts for them to wear that day.  This of course, is optional.  The cost is $6.  The shirts are yellow and will say Brazil in green on the front.  If you are interested in ordering a shirt, please email [email protected] or text at 636-485-8290 by NOON this Thursday, May 9th.  We will be placing the order at that time.  Include your child's name and shirt size (youth medium, youth small etc.)   Please send money in an envelope marked ICD Olympics/McMurtrie.   We are pre-paying for the shirts, so please have money in before May 17th.  If you are not ordering a shirt, please have your child wear yellow or green that day.

Please reach out if you have any questions!  Thank you!

Field Trip to the Zoo

Parents,
It is great to see that so many of you have signed the permission slip for our field trip to the St. Louis Zoo on May 22nd. If you have not done so yet, make sure to get that completed soon. Reminder, all parents are invited to chaperone this trip. Protecting God’s Children Course must have been taken to participate in any field trip and no younger siblings are allowed to accompany parents on field trips. Parents will be driving themselves to the zoo (or carpool) while teachers and students ride the bus. Please plan to meet us at the zoo at 9:30 (or feel free to follow the bus - we will leave the school at 8:30). After exploring the zoo, we will meet back up at 1:15 for a picture before leaving the zoo at 1:30. Students will be carrying their own lunches/water bottles in a draw string bag and groups may eat lunch at their convenience. We are looking forward to a fun and relaxing day at the zoo!
Peace,
Annette Maher

Homework

Don't let "Springitis" prevent your child from doing their homework to the very best of their ability! Make sure to check over homework to prevent bad habits and careless errors. Google classroom also contains study materials to prep for upcoming tests.
