Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori based religious formation program for children, beginning at the age of three. In a sacred, hands-on environment, called the atrium, both the children and the catechist can hear, ponder, and celebrate the most essential mysteries of our Christian faith as revealed in the scriptures and the liturgy. Our preschool - first grade students attend Catechesis of the Good Shepherd once a week.

Originally developed over 60 years ago in Rome by Dr. Sofia Cavaletti and Gianna Gobbi, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd continues to spread throughout the world. Specially designed materials and presentations help children explore areas of faith formation appropriate to their developmental age focusing on contemplation and enjoyment of God.

CGS responds to the child's silent plea, "Help me to come closer to God by myself."
