Welcome to Mrs. Britt's classroom!

I have been a teacher at Immaculate Conception school since 2003. After 13 years teaching 5th and 6th grade students, I moved to second grade and found it a great way to broaden my teaching experience.

I have always known that I have a special connection with kids that helps me bring them joy in learning. I knew education was the right career path for me from a very young age. I attended the University of Missouri Columbia, and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have been married to my husband for 21 years and we have two high school age boys. I started my teaching career in the Kindergarten classroom at St. James the Greater before coming to Immaculate Conception.

I feel that learning should be fun and meaningful. Students should be able to grow in their learning at a pace that allows for the most intellectual and personal growth. I strive to have students get in touch with their inner teacher and develop a love of learning every time they step into my classroom. My hope is that all of my students leave me prepared for the future in both academic and social skills.

My goal is to give your child the best education possible in a caring and supportive learning environment. I believe that a student, his or her parents, and the classroom teacher are a team that work together to make a student’s experience in school not only enjoyable, but as successful as it possibly can be. With that in mind, please know that my door is always open to you. I’m so glad to be a part of your child’s education, and look forward to a great, productive school year!
