This week is very special in the Church as we celebrate Holy Week. The days of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday together form the Triduum. Engaging in the Triduum with our preschoolers can be a joyful and meaningful experience.
Here are some activities you can enjoy at home with your preschoolers during this Holy Week:
Holy Thursday:
- Wash each other's feet, reflecting on the love and service Jesus showed.
- Read a story about the Last Supper to understand this important event.
Good Friday:
- Spend time praying in front of a Crucifix in a quiet, calm place.
- Encourage your child to draw a picture of a cross or a picture of Jesus.
Holy Saturday:
- Light a candle to prepare for the Light of Easter.
- Attend the Easter Vigil together as a family.
- Read the story of Jesus’s resurrection to celebrate this joyous event.
As we approach this weekend, I wish each of you a very Blessed Easter. May you share the joy of Jesus’s resurrection with your children and create many special memories together. We look forward to seeing you at Mass this weekend!
Reminders and important dates:
- Preschool drop-off is from 8:00 to 8:15 AM, and pick-up is at 2:55 PM. If your child's pick-up arrangements change during the day, please notify the office by 2:30 PM. Arriving on time ensures a smooth and positive start to your child's day.
- With the nicer weather upon us, we have been noticing more and more students who are teetering out of the side windows or sunroofs of vehicles as they approach. Since cars often need to make abrupt stops within our parking lot, which could cause a potentially dangerous situation, we ask that you ensure the safety of your child before following the line to the front of the cafeteria.
- April 22 - Parents ONLY meeting for parents of students who will be attending our 3 year old preschool program next year.
- May 4 - All 4 year old preschool students are invited to join us at 10:15 Mass where they will receive a special blessing and sing Immaculate Mary.
- May 5- Preschool 4’s Mass at 9:30 am in the Chapel
- May 15 - End of the year Preschool Program for all 4 year old preschool students (5:30 start for MWF classes and 7:00 start for M-F classes)
