New Server Vestments & Vocations
A Note from Fr. Baer
We are blessed with devoted young men and young women who serve Masses at our parish. You may have noticed their new vestments. Serving is a great opportunity for kids to get to know the Mass better and learn to offer their stewardship of time and talent.

It is also, for many, where the seeds of a religious vocation are planted. This was true for me, as I served Mass starting in sixth grade (see photo of beardless Fr. Baer the first time I served as a seminarian).

Our new vestments are designed to encourage discernment, as they mirror the vestments of priests and religious sisters. Boys are now wearing a cassock (black gown) and surplice (white vestment). Girls are now wearing an alb (white gown), cincture (rope), and scapular (blue fabric). The scapular is a common feature of religious habits (see photo of the Sisters of Life).

Please keep the young men and women of our parish in prayer, asking that God would call many to become holy priests and religious to serve Jesus and our Church!
