Students in Mrs. Kutchback’s third grade class are exploring ways our parish shows that we are the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church. Students read and discussed how God unites us in Baptism, how Jesus shares his life and love with us, that the Church is universal and open to all people, and how the Church follows the teachings of the Apostles. Our chapter was culminated with a craft showing the doors of the church open with many colors inside, representing people of all nations, cultures, and languages. Ask any ICD third grader what makes the church and they will respond “We do!”

Mrs. Britt’s class earned their first Flashlight Friday. During Flashlight Friday, the students choose their 'good fit' books and found any cozy space in the classroom. Once the blinds were closed, and the lights went off and they turned on their lights...and READ! Students read under their desks, on the carpet, on their flipped-over chairs with pillows ...pretty much anywhere. This was a great reward for all of their hard work during Reading workshop!
