Late Work

For 7th and 8th grade religion, there will not be a penalty for late work that shows up in the grade book. The assignments will be graded on the content of the assignment only. If a student does not turn in an assignment, there may be a “0” or “M” placed in the gradebook as a placeholder. The parents will be e-mailed with a TeacherEase form note indicating that an assignment was not turned in. Upon completion of the assignment, the assignment will be graded as normal and the “0” or “M” replaced with the grade the student earned.

If a student has three or more outstanding missing assignments, he or she will be asked to come to Mr. Bellamy’s room during his or her study hall time to complete them under his direct supervision. Upon completion, those assignments will then be graded as normal. The parent, student, and the student’s homeroom teacher will be notified the day before study hall so all parties know of the plan to complete the assignments in the religion classroom.

Grade Changes

If a student is not satisfied with the grade he or she receives on an assignment, he or she has the opportunity to make up the points, up to full credit. I will have a signup sheet each week for five minute time slots in study hall. A student can sign up on the list. Then, I will meet with them. For a simple mistake, we may be able to discuss what they can do to meet the requirements for full credit. If more time is needed, they can sign up for another time. Options will be made available for different ways and methods of demonstrating the learning.
