ICD’s November bible verse:

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.

 (Psalm 136:1a)

Dear Parents,

Welcome back from Fall Break!  Thank you for your commitment to attend the Parent Teacher Conferences and special congratulations to our 7th and 8th graders who led their own conferences!

Next week’s newsletter will include information about our ITBS scores.  We did very well – thanks to the efforts of all of the students.

With November upon us, our attention moves to studying the heroes of our faith: the Saints and those on their way to sainthood!  As you know, each classroom has an assigned saint.  The students will be studying this saint throughout the month.  These individuals give all of us hope!  For example, Blessed Pier Giorgio, is the patron saint for 7B.  He died at the age of 24.  He was athletic and an outdoorsman.  His generosity to others in need was amazing.  As the month goes on, ask your children about the adopted saint of their classroom.  By the end of the month, they should be able to share a lot with you.

On the original school calendar, it is listed that we will have a science fair during Catholic Schools Week.  We have had a committee working on this since September.  Soon information will be coming home to inform families of entry standards.  This will not be a requirement, but a wonderful opportunity for the students who wish to enter.

Finally, we are very sorry for the traffic congestion caused on Monday and Tuesday.  We are having some issues with our master clock system.  Thank you for your patience!

God bless,

Janet Eaton

Pennies for Jesus – November 6th

Pajama day (Pennies for Jesus) is tomorrow!  Grab your Pennies and come to school comfortable!  Your pajamas must have sleeves, tops and bottoms (no shorts).  Fuzzy socks or funny socks may be worn.  Sweatpants or PJ pants would be great.  Robes may be worn on top of your pajamas.  School shoes must be worn with pajamas (NO SLIPPERS).  K-8 may bring a small stuffed animal to school on this special day.  All of our Pennies will go towards our support for Whole Kids Outreach. This Pennies for Jesus Day is sponsored by our terrific Student Council!

Bring your PENNIES tomorrow!

Kick Off for Share a Toy

What would it be like to have no funds to purchase a gift for your child or for your family at Christmas time?  That is what it is like for our Whole Kids Outreach families.  They are counting on us to help them.  Please be generous with your contribution. This project is taking the place of the traditional Mountains of Love.  More information can be found in the attached flyer to today’s Window.

Worry FreeWednesday Raffle 2   We are pleased to announce that there will be an additional cash drawing for the current raffle this month. One lucky person who bought a ticket for the original 2009 Worry Free Wednesday raffle will win $100! This is a great chance to get a headstart on Christmas shopping. This drawing will take place on November 25th.

Thank you to all who have already sold their raffle tickets for 2010!! This year, we would like to keep you updated weekly on the top seller, and currently we have one family that has sold 15 tickets!!  These tickets can be great stocking stuffers for any member of the family - especially those "hard to buy for" aunts, uncles and grandparents!

Please continue to turn them in as you sell them. Just put the stubs and money in an envelope marked Worry Free Wednesday Raffle 2 and send them in to school in your child’s folder.

Keep plugging along…remember, the family with the most sales will win $150 in the Scrip of their choice. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PRIZE, ALL TICKET SALES MUST BE TURNED IN BY FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4th.

Just a reminder, tickets costs only $10 and will provide you with 52 chances to win. There will be a $50 drawing every Wednesday during 2010. Happy Selling and Good Luck!

INCOMING KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS

An Intention Form must be on record for incoming Kindergarteners or your child will not be eligible for our 2010-2011 kindergarten class.  We are beginning to work on this and it is CRITICAL that we have no surprises!

CONGRATULATIONS HONOR ROLL STUDENTS

We are so proud of all of the students … all 772 of them!  As our enrollment expands and in understanding that our 5-8 graders have similar standards for academic and discipline(signature cards) performance, we will not be including the 4th graders this year in the newsletter listing of honor roll.  Instead each 4th grader who achieves the standards of our honor roll will be recognized with an individual certificate each quarter.

WITHOUT GOD OUR WEEK WOULD BE:

Sinday,

Mournday,

Tearsday,

Wasteday,

Thirstday,

Fightday,

and   Shatterday.

Seven days without God makes one weak!
